European Currency Unions

The Euro is aware of like a innovation - but it is not. European Monetary Union

A central monetary institution was recognized only in 1791 (modelled after the Bank of England). But Madison (as President) let its allowance expire in 1811. Bank regulation and management were instituted only in 1863 and a difference was made between national and state-level banks.
